We always think of ditching sugar to improve our physical health but I’ve worried more about the effect that sugar has on my mental health, in the last ten years of my life.

Did you know that sugar affects your mood? We have all believed for years that sugar gives us a quick ‘pick me up’ after consumption, which is true. But todays research suggests that sugary treats have no positive effect on our mood at all. Studies have found that the regular intake of saturated fats and sugar have given higher feelings of ‘anxiety’ in adults aged 60 and over. Now, there are not many studies on the relationship between mood and sugar consumption and I feel more are needed. However, studies or not, I feel it is important to consider, “Does what you eat affect your psychological well-being?”

Did you know that lots of people turn to sugary foods when they are feeling anxious? Sugar makes you feel less tired and ‘frazzled’ by actually suppressing the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis in your brain that is responsible for controlling your response to stress. This in turn means that sugary foods could be weakening your body’s ability to respond to stress. Sugar and sweet foods give you temporary relief from the feelings of stress but it may make you more reliant on a sugar ‘high’ to get you through the day! This may increase your risk of obesity and other related diseases.

Did you know that high levels of sugar consumption may increase your risk of developing depression? Think back to a day when you felt emotionally drained from issues with a relationship, or having had a difficult day at the office. What do you do? You reach for the comfort foods and use sugar subconsciously to manage your emotions. However, not long after an intake of sugar to ease and comfort oneself, you tend to feel even more fatigued, sad or hopeless than before you ‘comfort ate’. I find it difficult to avoid reaching for comfort foods when I have had a tough day, but if you adopt such a cycle you will be increasing your likelihood of depression developing. Studies have proven a link between diets high in sugar and depression, so be aware that what you put into your body will affect your mood. The constant overconsumption of sugar can trigger imbalances in certain brain chemicals, which can lead to depression and increase the risk of developing a mental health disorder. Anxiety loves sugar, so being aware of such is good to help you to keep your mental wellbeing intact, especially in the winter months.

Did you know that you are zapping brain power by eating a lot of sugar? Studies have shown that eating high levels of sugar can actually impair your cognitive functioning, namely decision making and memory. So your choice of diet can affect your brain health. This can be seen when a person who consumes high amounts of sugar experiences the physiological sensation of withdrawal when they suddenly stop consuming sugar.

If I suffer anxiety should I give up sugar? If you are someone who suffers from anxiety I would not advise going cold turkey from sugar. That would adversely affect your mood and may even bring on what would feel like a ‘panic attack’ from sudden sugar withdrawal. In this situation it would be best to choose to eat better foods. You would be wise to choose not to deny yourself sweet-tasting food, and at the same time decide to limit your intake of processed sugar. I know from experience that quitting processed sugar may not be as simple as you think. You may experience anxiety, irritability, confusion and fatigue but it will be worth it in the long run.

If you want to change the way you eat and live day to day to become the best version of yourself, I can help! Just drop me a line and we can arrange a zoom call to discuss your individual goal setting and needs.
The post Is eating sugar affecting my mental health? first appeared on Lynne Snook.

“Friends are the family that I choose for myself”

Unfortunately not all of us have family, but whatever your situation in life it is better to look at the glass half full, just as I do! My mother and father are no longer alive so over the last twenty three years I have chosen my friends to be my family. I truly believe dear reader that with every challenging life event, however bad it may be, it will bring about good.

Bonfire night is a good time to plan to see, and to be with, family members or to be with those who you love as ‘family’. It is an uplifting and positive time and I am sure that you too have many childhood memories, as do I, of sparklers being lit, toffee coated apples and chucking a Guy Fawkes dummy on raging bonfire.

It is during these times of the year that we need to embrace time with our ‘family’ and loved ones. Simple huddling together around the bonfire can have profound health benefits! Did you know that the ‘power of touch’ has been proven to have healing effects on ones’ health and wellbeing? So many studies have been carried out on this and it is why end of life cancer patients really benefit from lymph massage. My cancer patients report a sense of being nurtured, loved and understood just from my slow consistent body touch.

So dear reader how can you make this Bonfire night time for family nurturing and the spread of unconditional, positive love? The knock on effect of ‘paying forward’ the love will be an increase in your overall wellbeing, so give it a go! You will be a blessing on someone’s life and will automatically feel blessed for it yourself. I have a few of my own ideas to share with you. I often choose a friend, who is part of my make shift family, who would benefit from some relaxation and ‘rebalancing’ and I will gift them a healing massage voucher to use with me. For another, I have purchased them some new gloves or a scarf for Bonfire night, with a little note to say “you are loved by me for the beauty that you are”. Ideas for the men in my ‘family’ unit can be tricky. I have purchased things like a mini cafetiere with coffee inside to be kind, and have even put together a ‘groom not to be gloomy’ pack to freshen themselves up. I included a new razor, a couple of face packs for men and a little candle to try and promote some ‘self-care’ relaxation into their lives.

I’d love you all to give this a go today and to spread the ‘love’ to the furthest corners of the world! After all the great Oak tree did come from a small seedling! So we can all make the changes within humanity to ‘rebalance’ the world and spread lots of unconditional LOVE! If you do choose to ‘pay it forward’ today, I would love to hear all about it! Please let me know as I can then share with all the readers on how we are all starting an avalanche of LOVE and KIND! Let us grow together and show the world that a small light can grow and take over any darkness that the world throws our way!

Enjoy your family time and embrace every precious moment with those in your household that you are allowed to cuddle up to! The POWER OF TOUCH Really is something special for ones wellbeing and is a must going forward positively into the new world ‘norm’.

Have a great week!

For some it is a time to have ‘fun and frolics’ and for others it is a time to ‘hide and not be seen’. I have mixed feelings on this event consisting of spooky story-telling, creepy crafts and the many ‘trick or treat’ trails that I have been accustomed to in the years gone by. However, given this year of change, unpredictability and the new ‘norm’ it is a welcomed event in my home. Halloween this year can be a time for spontaneity, positivity, joy, laughter and love for all. A time to ‘come together’ within communities and to enjoy humanity at its best; sharing and giving out lots of unconditional love to the world whilst having lots of fun!

“Do one thing every day that scares you”

I live by this saying dear reader, ever since the day my mother passed away. It has been so helpful and positive at pushing me forwards in my life. So I challenge you on today of all days to do just that “one thing that scares you”. After all it is in-line with it being Halloween, so jump! Scare yourself, and who knows you may actually enjoy the thrill!?

I love to have a good party and we will celebrate this day, even if we are all ‘locked in’ over the world. ‘Covid-19’ will not dictate how I spread my word and love for you all. Have you planned to ‘trick or treat’ tonight? It does not have to be done on the streets, you can always choose to play the game online with other friends and their children to keep your family entertained and safe at home. Zoom call dares and pranks on the phone are both safe options for you this Halloween so that ‘Covid-19’ does not spoil your Halloween fun.

Many find Halloween a challenging time as they wish to hide and not be seen. Many elderly wish to be left alone and fear being harassed by the minority who choose to be unkind during the festivities of Halloween. The elderly may be feeling vulnerable and so what can you do to support those in your community during Halloween? How about we all ‘pay it forward’ and spread the Halloween unconditional love by checking in on a fellow elderly neighbour on Halloween? Maybe you could take them a small offering of love and kind, like a baked cake or cookie. Perhaps choose to share a cuppa, and some time with them, if they would like to do so. Then they will know that they have your support for the upcoming evening festivities that the youth of our community love to partake in. I never want anyone to live in FEAR, only in LOVE, HOPE and JOY!

So how will you celebrate Halloween in a positive light this year?

So dear reader, help one another to make Halloween a positive and LOVE filled experience this year!

Have a good week!

It is no surprise dear reader to hear that the colder and darker winter months evoke lower feelings than those in summer. For many it is difficult to see the darker times as good because it will affect ones mood. Weather changes can negatively affect mental health for so many people, so it is good to be aware of this dear reader as a loved one may be suffering as we shift from autumn to winter.

Seasonal changes result in less light levels during the daytime. This depletion in sunlight, which regulates our circadian rhythm, results in metabolic changes which significantly affect our well-being. Both children and adults alike will begin to feel more easily tired, irritable and even sad in comparison to the summer months this year. In winter serotonin, which makes you feel good, becomes less at the same time that melatonin, associated with sleepiness and depression, is enhanced. This change over can make one feel more sleepy, irritable and even quite sad during the colder winter months.

Snooki’s Self-care regime is my answer to always staying both ‘upbeat’ and happy in the colder winter months. I spend time on myself on a daily and weekly basis all year round but I up my game during the 3-4 months of winter to ensure my mental health remains in tip top shape and ‘balanced’.

“Self-care means giving yourself permission to pause” – Cecilia Tran

How can I create Self-care into my life? I get asked this question a lot by my wellness coaching clients and I simply answer with “it is all about creating a self-care environment”. So what do I mean by this dear reader? Well my way of combatting the winter blues is to build a self-care repertoire within my working and home life. The easiest way to do this within both settings dear reader is to purchase or create soft and inviting things to have at ones fingertips! Here are a few things I have tried and tested over the years…..

•	I purchase candles, pillow sprays and essential oils that relax me to leave in my work
space and bedroom. Quick to hand when I need a ‘pick me up’
•	I have a comfort blanket, in the form of a special mug – both at home and work.
•	Organised a set on my iTunes playlist that evokes spa-like surrounds, when I need some
down time to chill via my senses.
•	I have a tub of luxury health products to indulge self with when I want to treat myself
to a face mask, sugar scrub or candle lit bath.
•	Journals by the bed to allow self-expression to happen when it needs to!
•	I keep baking goods stocked up during the winter months for when I want to cook, for
memories of my dear mum and for moments of pure culinary self-care.

I was discussing this with a friend the other day who has been struggling of late, post lock down, and who fears the winter months ahead. I told her that for me one of the best ways of self-care for self, during the winter, is when I focus on ‘feeding my senses’. I choose to make sure that I see, hear, taste, feel and smell enriching things that ease the challenges that come with winter.
The journey of self-care is very individual and I am hoping that I have giving you some ‘top tips’ and things to try out dear reader. On my YouTube channel ‘Lynne Snook Wellness Coach’. I have various videos that will help navigate you in the winter months too! I would suggest watching the one on ‘Be Kind to Self’ and then ‘Self Compassion’.

As I always say, “I can, I will, I am able to do this” – Lynne Snook

And so can you, and your loved ones, dear reader. We can all make some changes to see us through and have well-being in the colder winter months. Especially with the help and gentle guidance from myself, and the rest of the ‘Lengro’ family!

We can choose to be a tribe of positive people who storm the colder Winter months with lots of love, self-compassion and care!

We are here for you! Have a great week!

Fitness within the comfort of your own home, is the new way of life during this ‘lock down’ period. The home, or park, is now considered to be the new gym where one can enjoy free direct fitness on demand. How times have changed as a result of an unseen enemy, such as Covid-19. Did you know dear reader, that a whopping 77% of people are now re-evaluating what is important to them as a result of ‘lock down’ and 57% have vowed to only buy what they need to save resources once the lock down has been lifted.

Wellness has always been a way of life for myself since I was eighteen years of age, and it continues to be so. My mental health is of ‘paramount’ importance to my overall ‘wellbeing’, and to keep my overall mind, body and soul ‘Balance’. This ‘lock down’ has pushed so many consumers to develop ‘routines’ and a higher level of self-discipline when it comes to working out online, with no access to gyms and studios. There are so many choices at present to help you to become increasingly knowledgeable and self-motivated. You can tune in to a LIVE on IG, LIVE on FB, or an ‘on demand’ video on You Tube to break a sweat in the comfort of your own home. Apart from the physical side to your wellness, you can choose to develop your mind by reading more of my blogs or self-development books.

The impact of Covid-19 on the wellness of the globe has been tremendous. People are now aware, more than ever, that we are all interconnected and not separate from one another. We all need good health, to be healthy as a collective globally, when it comes to an unseen enemy such as Covid-19. This in itself shows our unity and dependency on one another as a species. We need more of this ‘awakening’ to have ‘wellness’ as a way of life for all worldwide in the 21st Century. I love hearing that as a result of this pandemic, people will choose wiser options in the future. For example, with regards to groceries; half the people interviewed on the news said they intend to only buy the food they need in the future, rather than buying in excess. I really feel for restaurants right now. The fear of public spaces, this less excessive approach to living by many and a new found passion for cooking at home, may mean a lot of restaurant closures. Restaurants may have to compete with their customers’ ability to entertain and feast at home, as they change their approach to wellness as a way of life! The glass may now be seen as half full rather than half empty when it comes to life and the way individuals live it!

This pandemic dear reader, has meant that so many of us have had to shift to ‘online’ for work and for entertainment. I would love to see us outdoors more and exercising, as this pandemic has forced our nation to do just this. However businesses have shifted their business online, during this pandemic to safeguard jobs. I just hope that the legacy of this pandemic will not be to enable us humans to bridge the gap between the online and offline worlds. Going online completely in the future will create an ‘imbalance’ for our ‘beings’ and have detrimental effects on us as a species globally. Yes, all consumers like to work together to help foster a new stronger and more sustainable reformed economy, but at what cost people? The 20th Century was a mechanical one where we pumped out planet like a machine for resources. Let us grow from this pandemic and continue the 21st century as a powerful collective who see wellness as a way of life! Let us change our ‘me’ thinking to ‘we’ thinking in a co-creative global effort to produce a new ‘norm’, which will save both our planet and us as a species. If we choose to ignore this time in isolation for restoration, rejuvenation of self and reflective practice worldwide, then I truly believe we will not survive another hundred years! What are your thoughts dear reader on the positivity of the pandemic? I shall write on this next time.
The post Wellness as a way of life?!? first appeared on Lynne Snook.

“I can, I will and I am able….. to overcome all”

It is Mental Health Awareness week folks and I want to start this blog with my own personal mantra above, and to ask that you do not allow yourself to suffer in silence! I am here for you! In the past I have suffered from Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Phobias and Eating Disorders. Enduring the difficult times dear reader, the emotional and physical pain of mental health disorders, is no easy feat. I can relate to each and every one of you who come across my blog and is reading this now. I endured ten months of continuous insomnia, and being ‘alone’. I lost many people in my life, including family members, who chose to walk away during my own personal battle when it became all too much for them to endure and see me suffering.

The road to recovery is not an easy one. As my dear mother instilled in me from such a young age, whilst I was lucky enough to have her here on Earth with me. “it is tough at the top Lynne”. Oh how she was and still is full of words of wisdom, that she imparted to me so she lives on in me. I have come to learn over the years from personal experience, that the difficult road is always the right one and that it is always “tough at the top”. To be top of your game, is tough, to be on top of your own personal battles is tough and it is still tough once you get to where you believe is the best place for you to be in life! The journey will be difficult, painful and one you will want to run away from time and time again. Dear reader, when you are able to face yourself in the mirror, to be kind to self, and to put that stick down, you WILL HEAL! You will choose ‘self-love’ and to stop beating yourself up for all the hurt you have within. Some of this hurt will be yours to own, but the majority will not be, and the rest is for others to own. Give yourself the ‘time’ to create enough ‘space’ to self-reflect and learn how ‘self-love’. YOU really ARE WORTHY and YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! always and forever!

I am, dear reader, a SURVIVOR of mental health disorders and yes I am in FULL RECOVERY. I am a strong and balanced individual with great empathy for all of you currently suffering, and for most it will be in silence. I truly wish you to know, that you are NOT ALONE. That I care, that others care about and for you! I am setting up my own personal tribe, a community of like-minded sufferers, to educate them and to encourage them that my mantra does stand true. That you too one day can say with complete certainty that “I can, I will and I am able” to do this, to overcome all that is thrown at you in life. Let me help you, to learn how to love yourself again, to break free from the mental chains that are weighing you down and to LOVE the person you are and will become through our sessions together. If you feel I may be the right person to help you on your journey, please contact me via the ‘contact’ page. Simply complete the form, to enable me to book a free 10 minute consultation with you. We can discuss and determine if we are right for one another. To work together, on your road to recovery, to help you to break free from those chains and in doing so to heal yourself from all mental anguish.
The post Mental Health Awareness Week – Do not suffer! first appeared on Lynne Snook.

Human ‘beings’ are creatures of habit, but at the end of the day we are mammals. We have ‘animalistic’ tendencies and are known to be ‘sociable’ animals. We were not made to thrive alone. We work best with others, like Wolves in a pack. So imagine if you will taking a sociable, outgoing person, who spent their entire life ‘doing’ pre lock down, and putting them in a confined space for more than 30 days, the changes that would occur physiologically. It is inevitable that such changes would have an effect on the body and brain.

Can you imagine being confined to a small dark room with no social interaction for 30 days?

An experiment was carried out in 2018 by a man named Rich Alati. He bet a lot of money, and said he could survive being alone and in the dark for 30 days. He was kept in a small, dark room with only a bed, fridge and bathroom. Rich lasted 20 days as the negative effects of social isolation had kicked in.

Did you know that social isolation can effects our sleep cycle, and that complete isolation will be difficult for a human to withstand?

Many are fortunate enough to be isolated with others. Alas so many people are living in isolation by self. Humans are known to be social creatures, so to be alone for more than 30 days will see the onset of loneliness. Did you know that extreme loneliness, in certain situations, has led to the person creating imaginary friends to cope mentally and to keep themselves company. Hallucinations occur because of a lack of brain stimulation, so make yourself keep busy!

Did you know that when you get lonely it affects your immune system?

I know this as I studied Immunology at University as part of my degree and I was fascinated by factors which affect it, like loneliness and stress. Your immune system will respond very differently to fighting viruses, and this in turn will make you more susceptible to contracting the current ‘Covid-19’ virus when out and about. Food for thought? To stay safer in this time, it would help that no one is left alone for long periods of time.

To add to this mix of loneliness. Physically isolating for long periods of time will also affect you physiologically. It may increase anxiety, create panic attacks and it may even induce paranoia in some. When I worked at Broadmoor hospital, I learnt back then that being in isolation as a patient would create long-term mental health problems. This is why my job back then as Sports and Recreational Officer was vital. To get the patients out of their confinements and out to a new area to ‘get moving’ and to help with their mental wellbeing.

So reader, why am I writing all this?
Loneliness for a long period of time is known to be damaging to our mental and physical health. I am concerned about the mental wellbeing of humans, during and post lock down. I predict a huge increase in reported PTSD cases, as socially isolated people will be less able to deal with stressful situations. They may find it difficult to process information and be more likely to suffer depression, and find decisions difficult to make.

So if you are alone find ways to engage with others on a daily basis. If you are alone or with others choose to get out everyday for exercise! Get out in the sunshine, do not stay in. This is detrimental to your mental health as reduced light levels are proven to affect you physiologically.

If you stay in all day your brains suprachiasmatic nucleus and the hormone melatonin will not get enough light! Both rely on light to function and they are key for sleep cycle regulation. We need regular daylight for two important reasons; Firstly to reduce melatonin, in the waking hours, so we feel awake. Secondly to help the suprachiastmatic nucleus to ‘reset’ our waking time if our sleep cycles does start to drift from a lack of daily activity. The crunch line reader is that without the correct amount of daylight, overtime our 24 hour circadian rhythm can change. I am so grateful to this pandemic happening in spring/summer, as the effects on mental health would have been far greater in autumn/winter.

What else can happen to my body due to disruptions in my circadian rhythm?
You may start to feel depressed and fatigued and longer term symptoms include links to increased cancer risk, insulin resistance, obesity and heart disease.
The good news is that the effects of isolation are reversible. Increased exposure to daylight will normally correct the sleep-wake pattern, over time.

What can you do to help Lynne?
Those people who have been in complete social isolation for all these weeks since lockdown, may have already started to develop the signs of a long-term mental health conditions, known as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Reconnecting with other humans will reduce loneliness and help to restore good mental and physical health, but right now this is not an option for many. I can help you now to ‘reconnect’ with yourself, and with others. To enable you to reflect and stop the swirling snowball downwards, to help bring you out of this before it gets out of hand. As part of my own personal mental health battles and being a Wellness coach, I have the right tools in my box to help you during this time, and post lock down. I wish to educate you all using all my knowledge and resources from my own personal life experiences and education. I feel
so strongly about mental health, and I can see how the United Kingdom, and global counties, will be affected by PTSD now and post lock down.
The post PTSD: Post-traumatic Stress Disorder effects? first appeared on Lynne Snook.

Over the years, many clients have experienced my multifaceted personality as their WELLNESS coach. However not many, if any, actually know ‘about me’. After all, why would they? As I dedicate our time together to help motivate, and guide them, to discover more about themselves though the art of self-reflective practice.
Post self meditative practice today I felt the need to share, during this period of ‘lock down’, some ‘quirky’ facts about myself. This way current clients, and those I am yet to meet, will get a glimpse of ‘behind the scenes’ Lynne Snook, better known to her friends as ‘Snooki’.

10 quirky facts about your WELLNESS coach LYNNE SNOOK

1. Bali, Indonesia, set my heart and soul a blaze. I found my ‘second home’ in 2001 and I regularly go back, as much as life in the UK will allow. Bali is a spiritual home for me. A place where I feel at peace with myself, to maintain my own Wellness. Here I am able to devote all my time to developing and further growth of my relationship with Jesus as a vessel for ‘healing’ others.
2. As a child I was overweight, shy and ashamed of whom I was. I did not have much self-love, considering I grew up in a home of unconditional love. Losing my mother at eighteen years of age, to ovarian cancer, changed my perception of life. It gave me the courage to grow and succeed in life.
3. Scuba diving one of my many ‘passions’. I discovered my love for it in 2001, whilst in Indonesia travelling and visiting Gili Trawangan, Lombok. I qualified as a Scuba diving instructor in the summer of 2004.
4. Whilst travelling in New Zealand I was chosen to take part in a reality TV show called ‘The Summit’ – lots of team and individual adventure challenges. Let’s just say I ended up on billboards and magazines after the show ended.
5. Laughter is so important to me, I love to ‘belly’ laugh with friends as often as possible, as I truly believe it to be an ‘all in one’ remedy and cure.
6. Friends truly are the ‘family’ I have chosen for myself. Both my parents have died, along with 12 Aunties and Uncles. Present day, there is just myself and my older brother left, so I take my time to trust in others and develop ‘lifelong’ friendships.
7. I believe in love, romance and finding your soulmate. Soul connections are everything to me, a way of feeling ‘complete’ and in unity with a partner.
8. I am so passionate about guiding others to discover who they are. Teaching them how to love themselves, from the inside out, whilst setting and applying good ‘self-care’ intentions.
9. I have designed and made my own sportswear clothing in honour of my Dad who passed away to cancer, three years ago. I named it ‘Snooki Sportswear’. This can be seen and purchased at www.snookisportswear.com
10. Ultimately, alongside coaching others to become the best version of themselves, I am on a mission to share my life story with the world! All in the hopes that the good, the bad and the ugly stories, will help to navigate others on a more ‘stable’ path through life’s tapestry. All the tests, challenges, struggles, along with the many victories, have moulded me into an authentic WELLNESS coach who has a real PASSION for helping others.
The post 10 quirky facts you may not know about me first appeared on Lynne Snook.

My dear mother, from an early age in my life, tried to embed such good morals and sayings within my mind and being. I can remember so many of her words of wisdom, some passed down from generation to generation and others her very own words. My journey to being ‘balanced’, at now 41 years young, I can attribute to my mothers’ wisdom and foresight of my character from a very early age. She was such a positive, calming and ‘unconditional love’ influence that when she left for heaven it changed my soul for many years afterwards. I felt the imbalance of not having her mothering energy around, and I lost sight of her words of wisdom. With time and healing, in full force, her words began to ‘pop’ up again in my mind, and resurface out of nowhere, as if she was present with me. Her words and sayings have served me well to help myself to ‘rebalance’, to overcome mental health issues, and in recent years to help all those crossing my path who wish to learn about self to grow and slef-heal.

THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG IT JUST IS!
Ever felt like your life was running along smoothly and then you reached a fork, a junction of two paths. You chose to go down the second path, not the first, and then all of your external world crumbled. I bet you chose to beat yourself up dear reader, and to give yourself a hard time? But why!?! At the end of the day, at that time, with all the knowledge you had you chose path number two. That dear reader was always going to be! You chose based on what you knew and thought to be ‘best’ for you at that time. Therefore, my dear mother is right “there is no right or wrong, it just is”. At that time you chose path two so accept it, learn from it, learn to let go and grow from it.
Learning to look at your external world with a fresh pair of eyes, will enable you to see with the same eyes as my dear wise mother, Sandra Anne Snook. She and I love to help humanity. To see the good in all, even when we sense the darkness within, we always choose to focus on the positives and the strengths of a soul in which to work on these moving forwards.

Choose to love yourself and practice self-care
It is a choice. Life is full of them so CHOOSE to let me guide, support and develop you, into the best BALANCED version of YOU! Contact me for my help and guidance, choose to grab my help with both hands dear reader. Let me show you how to feed your mind, body and soul the right way in preparation for these uncertain years of life to come. To know how to love yourself unconditionally, will help you to survive anything that will be thrown at you during your lifetime. I can guarantee this, dear reader, as I have endured the most heart-felt pains, lost most of my loved ones at an early age, been left to ‘thrive and survive’ or to sink, which I did. It was choosing to painfully self-reflect in order to learn who I was and to accept who I am to ‘be’ as Lynne. It was nurturing self, giving to self and truly LOVING myself unconditionally that has enabled me to see in my forty first year of life from an extremely balanced platform of joy, hope and love!

Lynne Snook Wellness coach and blogger, here to help any of you who are feeling these trying times. The Coronavirus ‘isolation’ situation is so unknown, so you may choose to seek my help now to keep mentally balanced. As well as beyond this pandemic! I truly feel at a deep soul level, that this is the time for me to help humanity, and more so during these mentally ‘trying’ times. Many of you reading this will be struggling with isolation for one reason or another. It is so important to try and establish and or maintain your ‘balance’ right now, and in the future months and years to come. I am here reader, to help you to learn about self and how to restore your own ‘balance’. My ultimate aim is to help humanity to keep their calm, to learn how to self ‘balance’ and to love self fully!
The post Use self-care and self-love to love you more! first appeared on Lynne Snook.

To accept who you are, and what you have to offer the world, is a sign of ‘being’ a wise old soul; irrespective of the age you are when you come to understand this. I can remember as far back as primary school, realising who I was becoming, and my place within the world at that time. An empath, an encourager, a defender of those unable to defend themselves. At such a young age I was defending the ‘bullied’ at school, and those who were blind to their true beauty within. The light that they emitted and all they had to offer the world, was dampened by worry and fear, they themselves had created, thinking about what others thought of them. I have to say that this kind of perspective thinking would have surely translated into those youths, adult lives. Unfortunately, I see it on a daily basis when clients come to me for some coaching. They think they are not worthy, that they are still the ‘bullied’ and not the ‘empowered’ person I can see they are destined to be. I am extremely passionate about helping others to learn how they can help themselves, to become the best version of YOU!

You can see how my journey to ‘being’ exactly where I am now, started at a very early age. It is within me, an innate ‘energy’. This constant outpouring of ‘unconditional’ love, from myself to the external world, has been with me all my live, to help humanity to see the ‘good’ in all.

I have always focused on, and been thankful for, what I have in my life at any given time. Even when I nursed my mother to the day she died, at the age of 17, I witnessed all the joy and beauty that this journey with my mum had to offer (at the time and for years since). My soul sees life as both precious and beautiful, and that each and every person I am blessed to meet in my lifetime are ‘perfect’ as they are. No need to find flaws within, to judge and compare any indifferences to others around you in your live. After all we are all created as ‘unique’ one offs, planned and purposeful, and this dear reader I see as true beauty!

From young adulthood, post losing my best friend and mother so young, I completely focused on my education. I wished to achieve the best possible outcome, so that this ‘East End’ girl could far surpass any limiting beliefs placed upon on her by others, and to go down the medicine route. My mothers’ passing was both my ‘strength’ and ‘drive’, would you believe.

Upon achieving a First Class Hons In Human Biosciences, and having the option of completing the ‘medical’ route, I knew this was not the path for me. I felt ‘lost’ at this point, but I knew deep down that I would end up helping humanity in a very different way to medicine. Long story short, as you can read my lives journey in my book, I went on a journey of self-discovery. Many different career paths, linked to being a teacher and a healer, all of which related to ‘health’, ‘wellness’ and ultimately helping others.

At the end of 2016 I lost my Dad to lung cancer and COPD. This marked the moment where I would become all I was supposed to ‘be’. All my lives experiences to date, and education, courses upon courses, would come to together to form ‘Purple Freesia Integrated Therapies’. I collaborated all my knowledge, skill set, education and life experience to create Lynne Snook as a ‘one stop clinic’ for all mind, body and soul work www.purplefreesia.co.uk I had created my niche, as the UKs first and only Integrated Therapist.

Happy to physically ‘fix’ chronic back pain, dysfunctional shoulders and necks, for example, using many different muscular and skeletal techniques. Using ‘nerve’ reflexology, a specialised form, to help rebalance and heal many conditions such as IBS, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression and fertility issues to name a few. ‘Hands on healing’ to balance any emotional disturbances, caused by ‘loss’, ‘grief’, and any ‘excess’ physical pain. Life coaching to encourage clients to explore themselves and to learn to facilitate positive change within their lives. Then to combine all above into an Integrated Therapy package to help to ‘balance’ a person physically, mentally and emotionally as one. What a blessing and a gift my job had become. I love that my passion for helping others has truly become a job I love with all my heart and soul!

So many people have benefitted from my bespoke Wellness coaching and blogs that I have been writing for the last three years on my Purple Freesia site www.purplefreesia.co.uk So I decided to side step as Lynne Snook Wellness coach and blogger, to help all those who are feeling the trying times of this pandemic. I truly feel in my soul, at a deep level, that this is the time to launch this site. To help humanity, during these mentally ‘trying’ times. For I know that a lot of people will find it hard to keep their ‘balance’ right now and in the future months and years to come. This site and the avid writing of my book, in the weeks gone by in isolation to date, all lead to that original ‘big dream’ of mine. From back at an early age, I wanted to help humanity to keep their calm, collect and to learn how to self ‘balance’. It is a choice, as to whether or not you grab my help and guidance with both hands dear reader. Learn to love yourself unconditionally, let me guide and show you how to feed your mind, body and soul the right way in preparation for these uncertain years of life to come.
The post How I turned my PASSION for helping others, into a profession first appeared on Lynne Snook.
