“Friends are the family that I choose for myself”

Unfortunately not all of us have family, but whatever your situation in life it is better to look at the glass half full, just as I do! My mother and father are no longer alive so over the last twenty three years I have chosen my friends to be my family. I truly believe dear reader that with every challenging life event, however bad it may be, it will bring about good.

Bonfire night is a good time to plan to see, and to be with, family members or to be with those who you love as ‘family’. It is an uplifting and positive time and I am sure that you too have many childhood memories, as do I, of sparklers being lit, toffee coated apples and chucking a Guy Fawkes dummy on raging bonfire.

It is during these times of the year that we need to embrace time with our ‘family’ and loved ones. Simple huddling together around the bonfire can have profound health benefits! Did you know that the ‘power of touch’ has been proven to have healing effects on ones’ health and wellbeing? So many studies have been carried out on this and it is why end of life cancer patients really benefit from lymph massage. My cancer patients report a sense of being nurtured, loved and understood just from my slow consistent body touch.

So dear reader how can you make this Bonfire night time for family nurturing and the spread of unconditional, positive love? The knock on effect of ‘paying forward’ the love will be an increase in your overall wellbeing, so give it a go! You will be a blessing on someone’s life and will automatically feel blessed for it yourself. I have a few of my own ideas to share with you. I often choose a friend, who is part of my make shift family, who would benefit from some relaxation and ‘rebalancing’ and I will gift them a healing massage voucher to use with me. For another, I have purchased them some new gloves or a scarf for Bonfire night, with a little note to say “you are loved by me for the beauty that you are”. Ideas for the men in my ‘family’ unit can be tricky. I have purchased things like a mini cafetiere with coffee inside to be kind, and have even put together a ‘groom not to be gloomy’ pack to freshen themselves up. I included a new razor, a couple of face packs for men and a little candle to try and promote some ‘self-care’ relaxation into their lives.

I’d love you all to give this a go today and to spread the ‘love’ to the furthest corners of the world! After all the great Oak tree did come from a small seedling! So we can all make the changes within humanity to ‘rebalance’ the world and spread lots of unconditional LOVE! If you do choose to ‘pay it forward’ today, I would love to hear all about it! Please let me know as I can then share with all the readers on how we are all starting an avalanche of LOVE and KIND! Let us grow together and show the world that a small light can grow and take over any darkness that the world throws our way!

Enjoy your family time and embrace every precious moment with those in your household that you are allowed to cuddle up to! The POWER OF TOUCH Really is something special for ones wellbeing and is a must going forward positively into the new world ‘norm’.

Have a great week!
